LUNGI Airport is the gateway to Sierra Leone.  It is part of a series of towns and villages that make the area whole.  MAHERA is one of them.  It is a few minutes from Lungi town and Lungi airport.  Some of the other surrounding towns, villages and areas are Kamem, Rotifunk, Masoila, Tholomosor, Rogbom and more, especially, along the highway to TAGRIN which is the ferry terminal where you take the ferry to FREETOWN the capital city.  There are other transport means to Freetown.

Mahera, near Lungi and its surrounding areas, in Sierra Leone is in the Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom, Port Loko District in Sierra Leone. It is close to both the sea and the airport.  It is a small town with a population of about 8000 of the friendliest people in the country whose main occupation is agriculture and fisheries.  A few are empoyed to service the Airport. 

Mahera, and neighbouring towns are peaceful and calm.  The air in the area is clean and there is a long Atlantic Ocean coastline with natural sand.  There is a stunning view of the Freetown city lights across the water.
